Adding and Managing Test Types in Aliquot

Updated over 2 months ago

Aliquot allows for the addition of many custom test types which can be used in reports. The aim of this article is to show how to effectively add, configure, and manage these test types.

Accessing Test Types

  1. Access Aliquot: Log into Aliquot.

  2. Reports: Navigate to the "Reports" section.

  3. Select Test Types: Click on the "Test Types" option.

  4. This opens the Test Types List.

Test Types List: The test type list displays all test types available for the report. The list can be used to edit, activate/deactivate, and delete test types. Test types can also be filtered by their active status or easily searched for by name using the search bar.

Test Type List

Under the test type list, you can:

  • Filter Active and In-Active tests

  • Search by test name.

  • Delete out unused tests

    • Please note that you cannot delete a historic test if it was used in a report.

  • Edit Tests

    • Change test details

    • Toggle a test to active/in-active

  • Add in new test types by hitting Create Test Type

  • See the test type Name and Long Name

Creating Test Types:

Search through pre-existing test types before adding a new one in.

Navigation: Clicking the "Create Test Type" button will bring up the interface for test type creation.

  1. Name: Enter the name of the test type into the name fields.

    • Note: Due to [Specific Character Limit], the short name will appear in the test table, while the long name will appear everywhere else.

  2. Calculated Test Type: To create a calculated test, flip the "Test is a Calculation" switch on.

    1. Formula: Enter a calculation formula in the calculation field

    2. Variable: Enter up to 16 variable descriptions

    3. Lock Calculation: Using this option will lock the calculation once entered. Can be used to ensure complex formulas are not mistakenly edited.

  3. Assign Lab Test: Select either Deposit or Water test switches if needed.

Note: Once a test type has been used in a report it is not possible to delete the type. This is done to ensure that previous reports and drafts don't run into errors.
