Being able to efficiently manage different access levels for entire groups of customers makes life easier. Rather than adjusting every individual user, you can set them into defined groups with the permissions and access levels they need for their role.
Accessing User Permission Templates:
โTo view and manage your group policies:
Log into Aliquot: Open the Aliquot Software Application.
Navigate to Utilities: Go to the Utilities section.
Select Permission Templates: Click on "Permission Templates."
This takes you to the Permissions List screen.
Shows a list of current templates by name, description, and number of users.
Delete and edit existing templates using the Delete (trashcan) or Edit (pen-to-paper)
Please note, editing a current template mirrors the same process as creating a new template.
Permissions List Interface:
The permission list interface displays all templates along with the following details:
The template Name.
A short Description of the template.
Number of Users assigned this permission scheme.
Note: Templates with active users cannot be deleted.
The search bar can be used to find specific permission templates by name.
Creating Permissions
Click Create Permission on the Permissions List screen.
This brings up the permission creation screen with five sections.
First section is Permission Details, where the template name and description go.
The other four categories deal with the actual template permissions. Each category has a large number of toggles for granularity. Those categories are:
Administration
Miscellaneous
Navigation
Reports
There are many options for you to tailor each permission template to what you want.
Remember the set-up is for permission templates, not for each user.
Set this up for a limited number of groups.
Permission Details:
Enter a name and short description for the template being created.
Choose whether to have the group locked or not.
Administration:
Administration includes but is not limited to access and editing rights to password changes, permissions, controllers, user creation, & test types.
Miscellaneous:
A catch all for any permissions that do not fit in their own category.
Miscellaneous includes but is not limited to access and editing rights to alarms, report phrases, master product list, inventory order access, & test trends.
Navigation:
Navigation includes but is not limited to access and editing rights to buildings, facilities, systems, components, & their attachments.
Reports:
Report permissions include but are not limited to access and editing; rights to reports; & logs.
Most Customer users will fall under the Operator template, or a custom edited Operator template.
โ
Customer users should use operator logs, not service reports.
โ
Service reports for Operators should be set to view.
Efficiently managing different access levels for entire groups of customers simplifies the process. Instead of adjusting each individual user, you can assign them to defined groups with the appropriate permissions and access levels for their roles.
โ
Although there are a lot of options, you only have to set these permissions up for the groups you want.
